Ready – set – GO!

As soon as you have installed Connektiva and installed Tickera on the way, you are literally just a few more clicks away from starting selling tickets for your event.

Create your event

First head to the Events area of Tickera and create a new event. When creating event, apart from the event title and event start and end date and time, all the other fields are completely optional although we strongly recommend you to go through all the available options as there are quite a few very useful ones. One useful tip we have for you is to check Show tickets automatically option as that will automatically show all the ticket types (that you will be creating in the next step) on the event page. Also you can use the event description field to add a content that describes your event. You can go with a brief description or you can go wild with all the bells and whistles, images and words that describe your event – it’s entirely up to you. The event page is actually presentation page for your event so you should treat it that way.

Create ticket types

So, you have created your event and now is the time to create ticket types for your event. Depending on your scenario you can have one, two, three or dozens of different ticket types. It’s all up to you and the needs of your particular scenario.

For the sake of example, let’s say that you’re organizing a three day convention and want to offer customers to purchase a ticket for each single day as well as a ticket for all three days. In total, then, you will need four ticket types. Ticket types for each single day should have check-in availability set to match the day they represent. That way, you can rest assured that each ticket can be checked-in only on particular date. At the same time, fourth ticket type, the one that provides entrance to all three days, should have check-in availability set as either open-ended or with the start and end date/time that matches event’s start and end date and time.

Payment gateways

After creating event and ticket types in Tickera, you’re just one step from starting selling your tickets. Surely, that step is enabling and configuring a payment gateway that you will be using to collect the funds for the ticket sales on your website.

Now, if you’re using Tickera as a standalone, then you can enable and configure your payment gateways within Tickera Settings -> Payment Gateways tab. However, if you’re running Tickera alongside WooCommerce via Bridge for WooCommerce add-on, then WooCommerce and payment gateways you have set within it will be used on the checkout.

Additional features

While creating events and ticket types and configuring payment gateways provides a bare minimum to start selling your tickets, there are a few other things you might want to look into. For example, Ticket Templates area of Tickera is the place where you can create a ticket template which directly affects the look and feel of the ticket that will be delivered to your customers. Also, if you want to collect some additional information on the checkout, you can utilize Custom Forms add-on for this.

Checking-in

Tickera is a complete event ticketing system that also includes Checkinera apps for iOS and Android devices which will make it possible for you to check-in tickets at the door of your convention. Regardless of how many entrances or how many people you have at the door, Checkinera will make a check-in process at the door seamlessly efficient experience. Spotty internet connection at the venue? No worries, you can check-in tickets even while your device is offline.

Done. How does it look now?

Creating events, ticket types and configuring payment gateways is your part of the job. The looks of all this is the heavy lifting part that Connektiva theme will take care for you. This theme, like all the other Themetick themes, are tailored with event organizing in mind and are every bit of optimized to work tightly with Tickera, ensuring that Tickera’s robustness in functionality is matched with equally good looks. This means that you will be editing the front end of your website in a true what-you-see-is-what-you-get fashion.
